Private Residence Glastonbury

Inspired by traditional New England "connected" architecture and minimalist modernism, this project renovates and adds to a first period saltbox house.

The addition, with its separate guest house, decks, and wide eaves, is a modernist counterpoint to the antique house and barn. Its large expanses of glass overlook a stunning 7-acre meadow and pond.

The design is executed using a variety of sustainable materials, including super-insulating SIPs panels. The overhanging roof and fenestration are carefully crafted to maximize passive solar energy.
