Clients:
Our primary collaborator in each project is our client. We don’t design For clients, we design With them. Our clients are fully engaged in the design process. Each design solution is, therefore authored equally by the client and the FbDS team.
 
Mid-Wives:
Truly inspired design is the result of contributions from clients, contractors, engineers as well as architects. Most often, the design process is ‘conducted’ rather than ‘directed.’ As principal, my role is often more mid-wife than the grand visionary. When the team is engaged and focused, the best design solutions emerge before our eyes. My job is to keep the team empowered and in motion.
 
Fishbrook Design Studio:
As founding partners, Kris and I have backgrounds in Fine Art, History, Archaeology, Music and Communications. We draw from these knowledge pools as well as sophisticated construction and project delivery methods, non-linear mathematics and the movement of fashion. For us, when the boundaries between disciplines are blended the solutions become richer and more sophisticated; more laden with meaning. Our style of collaboration within the office uses this blending to keep the Big Picture in focus while we dive deeply into details, codes and cost estimates.
