CareOne gave us a bold challenge: convert seven aging SNFs (skilled nursing facilities) into vibrant, hospitality-oriented environments. Their program to shift the facilities to private pay rehab and memory care from long term care and skilled nursing required a departure from the typical approach to senior living interiors.

We developed two themes. Scheme "A" is an environment appropriate for urban and sophisticated sub-urban locations. Scheme "C" leans towards the sea. It evokes a sense of the New England sea-coast using a subtle palette of materials and colors rather than literal motifs and images. We carefully selected art work, fabrics and furniture to reinforce the themes of the interior building finishes.

The result is stunning series of interiors which boast a near 100% closing rate for prospective clients who tour the facility. They sell well and live well. At the same time our design accommodates the needs of care staff and meet the requirements of the Massachusetts Department of Health and the rigorous industry standards for maintainability and performance.
